Welcome offers are lost in the first ten minutes more often than in the wagering. The deposit arrives by a method the offer excludes, the code goes in after the payment instead of before, or the bonus activates on a balance the player meant to keep. All four are avoidable, and all four are ordinary.
Before you deposit
Verify the account first. It takes twenty minutes once and removes the worst failure mode: a document request landing mid-wagering, with the clock running. Most casinos let you upload before the first deposit even when they do not ask.
Read two clauses only. The payment-method exclusions and the maximum bet while a bonus is active. The first decides whether the offer applies at all; the second decides whether it survives.
Check the minimum deposit against the offer you want. Packages frequently have tiers — 20 unlocks the match, 50 unlocks the match and the spins — and the second tier is rarely in the headline.
The deposit itself
- Method. E-wallets are the most commonly excluded, and the exclusion is usually buried in the general terms rather than on the promotion page. Card and bank transfer are almost always eligible.
- Code. If an offer uses one, it goes in during the deposit, not after. Codes cannot be applied retroactively on most platforms, and support will say so politely.
- Opt-in. Where the cashier shows a checkbox, read which way round it is. Several platforms default to accepting the bonus; one or two default to declining it.
- Amount. Deposit what you intended to play, not what maximises the match. The bonus scales with the deposit and so does the turnover attached to it.
The first five minutes after
Open the cashier and look at the balance split. Two numbers — cash and bonus — mean the offer is non-sticky and your own money is still withdrawable. One merged number means it is sticky and nothing leaves until the wagering is done.
Then set the stake. At or below the maximum-bet limit, before the first spin, and leave it there. This is the single habit that prevents the worst outcome in the whole process: a cleared bonus voided for one oversized round.
If something went wrong
Contact support before playing. A missing code, a wrong tier or a bonus credited when you did not want it can often be fixed in the first minutes and essentially never after a session. Ask for the correction in writing in the chat transcript, and save it.
